23° Alpe Adria Master International Weightlifting Tournament

Despite the absence of athletes from Bosnia – Hercegovina and Croatia, the 23rd edition of the Alpe Adria International Masters Weightlifting Tournament concluded with a record participation of 52 athletes (21 females and 31 males). The tournament was perfectly organized by Sante Girardi, President of the Olimpic Power Club, and his expert staff. The exceptional group of the FIPE Regional Committee, led by Fabio Martin, also played a key role in the organization, managing the competition and producing the results book using the FIPE-Gare system.
The women’s rankings saw the Veneto (ITA) team prevail with 22 points, followed by Friuli Venezia Giulia (ITA) with 10 points, and Zala (HUN) in third place with 7 points.
In the men’s standings, the home team Friuli Venezia Giulia (ITA) topped the podium with 21 points, followed by Veneto (ITA) with 17 points, and Niederösterreich (AUT) with 14 points. Slovenia (SLO) followed with 7 points and Zala (HUN) with 3 points. The “share” of athlete’s age was, for men, 55 years as the youngest athlete competing was Adamo Chiriaco from Friuli Venezia Giulia (ITA) born in 1990, while the oldest was Kurt Bohatschek from Niederösterreich (AUT) born in 1935. In the women, the “share” of athlete’s age was 26 years as the youngest athlete competing was Alessandra Milani from Veneto (ITA) born in 1990 and the oldest was Maria Lucia Battocletti born in 1964.
